What Suno Does

Suno is a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based AI music generation company founded in 2022 by Mikey Shulman, Georg Kucsko, Martin Camacho, and Keenan Freyberg, a team that previously worked together at the financial-AI firm Kensho. Its platform generates complete songs - vocals, lyrics, and instrumentals - from a text prompt, and has become the best-known consumer product in generative music.

Suno raised a $125 million Series B led by Lightspeed Venture Partners in May 2024, a $250 million Series C led by Menlo Ventures at a $2.45 billion valuation, and a further $400 million round in June 2026 that valued the company at $5.4 billion, with NVIDIA's NVentures among its investors. The company licenses catalog partnerships and ships creator-focused editing tools alongside its core text-to-music models, which it trains in-house.
